Ceramic Coating in Bournemouth, Poole & Christchurch

A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that bonds to your car's clear coat and cures into a hard, slick layer. Done properly, it keeps paint glossy for years rather than weeks, makes washing far quicker and stops road salt, bird lime and tree sap etching straight into the lacquer.

The process

What's involved

  1. Safe wash and decontaminationSnow foam, two-bucket wash, then iron fallout remover and clay to strip bonded contamination.
  2. Paint preparationAt least a one-step machine polish so the coating locks in gloss, not swirls. Heavier correction is quoted separately.
  3. Panel wipeAn IPA or dedicated prep spray removes polishing oils so the coating bonds.
  4. Coating applicationApplied panel by panel in controlled light, levelled and buffed off at the right time.
  5. CuringMost coatings need 12–24 hours away from rain, and no washing for about a week.

Who it suits: New cars (before the dealer wash marks set in), cars you plan to keep for several years, and anything parked near the sea.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can't see yours? Add it to your enquiry and we'll answer it with your quote.

How long does a ceramic coating last?

It depends on the product and how the car is washed. Coatings range from entry-level products to longer-life systems, and regular safe washing makes a big difference to how long any of them perform. We'll explain the options and the aftercare each one needs when we quote.

Is ceramic coating worth it?

If you keep a car for several years and wash it yourself, usually yes: it stays glossier and cleans far faster. If you change cars every year or only use an automatic car wash, a good sealant may be better value.

Do I need paint correction first?

Any swirls left under a coating are sealed in for years. We always polish before coating; cars with heavy swirling benefit from proper correction first, and we'll include that in your quote if it's needed.

Can a coating be applied at my home?

Sometimes. The car must stay dry while it cures, so a garage or covered space is best. We'll talk through the options when we quote.
